Benefit First-Class Faves Travel Set

Take flight with Benefit's travel faves!

It suckers you in, that attractive and vibrantly pink Benefit airport kiosk full of promise and face powder. It has actually saved me on some occasions when I've forgotten something and know Hello Flawless works well for me, or that Fake Up concealer is one of the few concealers that works for me.

Did I honestly need this travel set? No, I didn't, but at 10:55pm at night after the great Delta Computer Crisis my will power was weak. Also I wanted to try the Dandelion Glow because I hadn't seen it before and wasn't quite sure what it was.

The First-Class Faves Travel Kit comes with travel sizes of:

The Porefessional- not my favorite primer, but in a pinch will do.

Roller Lash Mascara- Surprisingly nice, not great for volume but quite nifty for length.

Dandelion Dew- this turns out to be a liquid blusher and I was surprised by the pigmentation and staying power when I wore it to work the other day.

Cha Cha Tint- Also decently pigmented, but these stains are a bit tricky to apply I'm finding. I do like how it looks on my lips, though, mixed with a sheer coral lip color I bought at Anthropologie.

Dandelion Blush- very soft pink, great on top of the Glow or on its own for a sweet pop of baby pink.

Total Moisture Facial Cream- As this is a thicker than my usual AM moisturizer, I would probably use it at night right now and then maybe in the day during winter. It's not super thick like cold cream levels of thick, but just enough that right now in summer I probably wouldn't want it sitting on my face until the weather cools off. It does moisturize well, isn't strongly scented, and does what it says on the tin.

While this kit is an interest mix of products, it would have been nice to seen a small version of foundation or erase paste or Boing as this is aimed for travel. The inclusion of primer is nice, but it would have made sense to add a base product, even just Hello Flawless powder. Had that been included, this kit could make, more or less, a soft minimal makeup look, since the dandelion blush and Dew could be doubled as eyeshadow and cha cha tint can work on the lips.

Still, if you've been curious about a few of these popular products, it's a pretty good deal at $26 and fairly low committal to test some of these out.
